Tuesday, August 6th from 6-9pm at 944 Stockton St.

Come join us in celebrating our Police Department with our annual Backyard BBQ!

This is an opportunity to strengthen our partnership with our law enforcement that makes our community a safe place to live and to build camaraderie among neighbors.

Our BBQ main course will be prepared by our neighborhood chefs. This is a pitch-in event so bring your chair, side dish to share (with serving utensil) and spirit of friendship! Water will be provided.

4th of July Parade and Picnic

All Greenbriar residents are invited.

On Thursday, July 4, join your neighbors in celebrating our country’s independence in the easement in back of Greenbriar School on Lieber.

  • Kids! Decorate your bikes and wagons and join the parade!
  • 11 AM Parade  – meet at the corner of Lieber and Darby. This year the parade will include a classic 1950 military truck!  https://youtu.be/1vjzvJTtIMk
    • We will wind through the neighborhood back to the school grounds. There will be a prize for each participant.
  • Food! Bring a dish to share at the picnic after the Parade.
    •  11:30 AM Picnic – GNA will provide the hot dogs, condiments, water, and paper products.   
  • Friendship! Sit and stay a while. Bring a lawn chair and visit a bit with your neighbors.

Winter has left our curbs filled with mud, gravel and leaves. Join us as we work to tidy up our neighborhood’s appearance. Bring shovels, brooms, and dustpans as we scoop out gravel, dirt and debris from the curb areas.

Rewards! Pizza for Lunch with the crew!

As an extra service to the city, DPW will pick up leaves from Greenbriar on November 12. 19, 26, and December 3.

  • Each household may put out up to 40 bags of leaves.
  • Please put them in large plastic bags and place them at least 3 feet away from your trash cart.

Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB) is donating 100 trees to Greenbriar Neighborhood!  The trees will be planted in the right of way areas along Hoover Lane south of 81st. St. KIB will bring equipment,  show us how to plant them, and come back and water them.

Please come and give us a hand! Meet at 8201 Hoover Lane on Saturday, October 20 at 8:30AM. This is a great opportunity to meet neighbors as we work together to improve our neighborhood.  Lunch will be provided.

  • Friendship! Sit and stay a while
    • Bring a lawn chair and stay for a bit to visit with your neighbors.

GNA June Cleanup!

WHAT: June Greenbriar Cleanup Event (w/lunch)
WHEN: Saturday, June 16 8:45 AM – 12 Noon
WHERE: Meet at 8339 Darby Court and return there for a midday lunch

Please bring a small shovel, rake, broom, dustpan, long handled grabber if you can 🙂 Wear rain gear and sturdy shoes/boots.

Help tackle litter along Ditch Road.
Bag up leaves, twigs and grass clippings from interior street’s curbs and street drains. Bags are taken to dumpster on Stockton Court before noon.

You are encouraged to come out and enjoy the morning with neighbors. Pass the word along to recruit Scout troops, school, church, synagogue groups, etc. as a community service! You might even make a new friend or two.
